The containers are manufactured to BS EN ISO 23907 and UN3291.

The orange container is for sharps that have not been contaminated with medicines this must be disposed of by incineration or other authorised process and is designed for the consignment of waste categorised by EWC codes: 18-01-01, 18-01-03, 18-02-01, 18-02-02.

 

The Yellow container is for sharps contaminated with medicines, but not cytotoxic or cytostatic. this must be disposed of by incineration or other authorised process and is designed for the consignment of waste categorised by EWC codes: 18-01-01, 18-01-03, 18-01-09, 18-02-01, 18-02-02, 18-02-08.

 

The blue container is for pharmaceutical waste in original packaging. This must be disposed of  by incineration or other authorised process and is designed for the consignment of waste categorised by EWC codes: 18-01-09 & 18-02-08

 

The purple container is for cytotoxic and cytostatic waste, This must be disposed of by incineration or other authorised process and is designed for the consignment of waste categorised by EWC codes: 18-01-01, 18-01-03, 18-01-08, 18-01-09, 18-02-01, 18-02-02, 18-02-07, 18-02-08.
